We Are Screaming, We Are Dying – We Are The Weirdos
Punk/Post-Hardcore/Emo from Manchester
For fans of: The Wonder Years, Funeral For A Friend, Spanish Love Songs, Holding Absense
This doesn’t ease you in, it just boots the door open. Ten seconds and you’re already braced, drums cracking, guitar coming in like it’s got a point to make. It’s angry in a way that feels real. No dress-up, no posturing, just straight at you.
It’s rough round the edges and better for it. Nothing polished, nothing behaving. Feels like it belongs in a sweaty room, not tidied up for a playlist. You can almost feel it pushing back.
The vocal sits between spoken and spat, like they’re trying to get it out before it catches in their throat. You don’t catch every word, but you don’t need to. “We’re screaming, we are dying, nobody seems to care” lands hard enough. There’s something sitting underneath it that actually matters.
You can hear the influences, but it doesn’t feel borrowed. It feels like theirs.
We Are The Weirdos are a punk band formed in 2023 as a solo project by lead singer Hope Parry, after being featured on BBC Radio Manchester, they saw the release of their debut EP, Lesson To Learn, a more honest, stripped back approach to songwriting than expected from a punk EP, Hope brought new influences into the genre.
After playing numerous shows over 2024 with the likes of Comeback Clit, Alldeepends, The Latchkey Kids and Pale Sailor, We Are The Weirdos started 2025 strong with a new, more aggressive sound with new single NO RESPECT showing a very different side to the project, which was further explored on the new EP Thoughts So Loud.
So Far the Thoughts So Loud era has seen We Are The Weirdos play along side bands like Gender Warfare, The Menstrual Cramps and Pet Needs, We Are The Weirdos show no intention of slowing down.
2025 also saw the introduction of new members into We Are The Weirdos, with Skylar on drums and Hexi (Sophie and the Silhouettes) on Bass, the future of We Are The Weirdos has never looked more exciting!
